My Favorite Chair

Several years ago the kids gave me this chair for my Birthday or Mother's day. I don't remember which. Anyway, I love this chair! It is comfy and it glides so nicely. But over the years it has developed a few characteristics like a smile in the front....Can you see it smiling at you?

OK ..OK .. it's not smiling..... but just worn out.

not only is it worn out but it's just dirty

I figured if Liseanne and I could recover her 2 chairs then I could recover mine.
So off to the store I went . Actually Liseanne took me to the store and I bought some material and then spent the day removing the old material and making a pattern. Then today I began to sew it all back together... It didn't take me as long as I thought it would and was able to finish

Now this is my new and improved favorite chair.
With the new walls and my new chair we have a good start on redoing the TV room.

FUN WITH GRANDKIDS

This week at the Elementary was Breakfast with your Grandparents so we picked up the boys and off we went. Both of the Twins wanted to sit by Parker...It's a good thing he has 2 sides

Breakfast was Great Harvest bread and your choice of Milk, Chocolate milk, orange juice or apple juice. Not much to eat for breakfast, but fun to be with the kids.

some wanted to spread their own jam others wanted help.

After breakfast it was off to the kids rooms to see what was new and to read to each other.
Thanks Cor.... for remembering to bring a book to read.

It wouldn't be picture time without some funny pictures.

OK, dad said make a funny face, then took the picture before I pulled one, but the kid were faster.

The other fun thing we did with grand kids was to make crayons......I bought this machine for Grandma Beverly about 5 years ago and it was never used. So I brought it home and when Sheldon and family were up here we pulled it out......

Brigham had to sit on the table...his favorite place to sit.

You take some old broken crayons and place them in the machine, and turn it on. and wait...

and wait

and then about 20 min. later you pour the melted crayons int the mold and wait again for the machine and the crayon to cool and Waaa laaa you have a new fun multi colored crayon.

Matching Bruises

After reading Stephanie's Blog about her bruise, we thought you might like to see the one your dad got. He has been using the toy he got a year ago...his chipper. Some wood got clogged and so dad had to reach down the shoot to unplug it and after doing that several times his arm looked like this. Ouch!!!! That just looks painful but it must be the thing to have since Stephanie and Dad both have one.

Roses

This will be a short blog but a fun one.
Mom died one year ago on the 18th of Feb. When I went into the back room to work, there was these beautiful Roses. The thing is that they just keep getting more beautiful. Then yesterday I was cleaning a closet in Grandmas house and on the top shelf clear to the back I found these Roses......
Each rose has a 5 and a 1 so there is about $36 dollars not a huge amount of money but it was fun to find. And I must say I love both of my flowers.

200 kids later

I just thought it would be fun to show you what it's like on PARTY day at K.K. As you can see it looks like a fun day just watching the kids....visiting......eating cookies (only the homemade ones) This is Melinda and a lady in her ward.

Looking at your valentines

making a card for the parents......the mother in red is Melodie Glade remember her?

play in the balls......

PLAY GAMES..........

musical chairs...

more games

and more games

I did say there were a lot of kids.
and since there are sooooo many kids you have to play the same game over and over and over again 18 times to be exact.

Cute little Zanna wasn't to sure about ALL the kids there at once..... but I don't blame her, that's a lot of kids.

I did say the cookies were good, just ask little Grady

cookies and fruit loops yumm!

Balls! and more Balls!

It's February and that means that it's time to put the sand pile away (YEA!!!!) I was going to be sure and take the camera so I could get all the steps of the transformation from sand box to ball pit but I remembered as the kids were pouring the balls in so I made them stop so I could go home and get my camera.
May I just say that we couldn't get it put up fast enoughfor the kids they wanted to start playing as soon as the first ball hit the bottom. some just couldn't resist and got in before they should have.

This one thought he'd died and gone to heaven...until he started to sink.

Young and old get to fill the pit with balls...some do it one at a time

others....a whole bag at a time. By the way can you see where Kayden is dumping the balls...Chester is being covered with balls as they are being dumped

This is where Grady is wondering if he likes the balls. He was crying so I took him out only to have him cry harder because his mean Grandma took him out of the balls. mean Grandma!!

If you watch the sides of the ball pit you can watch the balls get higher and higher.

this is great fun. "lets see how far under I can get."

This picture is the way most of the kids like to be. Every thing covered but their face.

These 2 sweet little girls like the balls as much as the boys.

Even when they get a shower of balls.

NOW is that a lot of ball to play in or what.....we still had to add the extra walls to keep the balls in, before it was finished. But don't they look like they're having fun?
Did I say that I'm glad that the sand is put away? The sand is just messy. YUCK!

On a second note it is alway intersting to see what we find at the bottom of the ball pit when it's time to put them away. socks, rings, bows, clips, toys, odds and ends of just about anything.

My time in Rochester

May I say that my time in Rochester with the Gregory's was a fun time the kids were good they did what they were asked and the conflict between siblings were few and far between. Grandma says thanks. Breakfast was cold cereal, hot cereal, french toast, and waffles. But their favorite was the cold cereal. this is what I saw most mornings.
One of the things we did a lot of was puzzles I would work on one side of the table and the kids would be on the other.

This was the easiest puzzle that I did, it only took me one day to do this one.

This one on the other hand was the hardest and took the longest to do. When T came home before his surgery he helped me with it and there were days that I almost gave up. but after T left on Tuesday I finally finished. Thanks T for your help.

This one was fun to to but as I was doing this one 2 pieces dropped on the floor and got behind the curtain and it was driving me crazy because I couldn't find them. May I say it's a good thing to sweep the floor because that's when I found the 2 pieces.
And I thought we had a lot of snow in Utah this storm left about 12 inches

So when the Family came home before T's surgery they went out to clean the drive way. I think the kids just played while......

Joanna did all the work. She really needs a Snow blower

For F.H. E. we made Christmas trees. And may I just say that I am not the best picture taker most of the pictures I took were blurry OK worse that the one you'll see here. but you can see what we did.

All of us busy at work.

T's and C's finished trees

Sorry Joanna, but even blurry you look great..Oh so does your tree.

This is almost too funny the only picture that came out good was the picture of MY tree....ha h

One of the fun things I got to do while here was to do the girls hair in all these different ways. These next 3 pictures was the last Sunday morning I was there.
This is Am's hair style
This is Ab's hair one of my favorite

And this is E's this was the first time doing this "do" so there were some things I would change but it turned out cute.

This is the back view. Thanks girls for being so patience while I played with your hair.
Thanks Joanna for the opportunity to spend time with your cute kids.
