My time in Rochester

May I say that my time in Rochester with the Gregory's was a fun time the kids were good they did what they were asked and the conflict between siblings were few and far between. Grandma says thanks. Breakfast was cold cereal, hot cereal, french toast, and waffles. But their favorite was the cold cereal. this is what I saw most mornings.

One of the things we did a lot of was puzzles I would work on one side of the table and the kids would be on the other.

This was the easiest puzzle that I did, it only took me one day to do this one.

This one on the other hand was the hardest and took the longest to do. When T came home before his surgery he helped me with it and there were days that I almost gave up. but after T left on Tuesday I finally finished. Thanks T for your help.

This one was fun to to but as I was doing this one 2 pieces dropped on the floor and got behind the curtain and it was driving me crazy because I couldn't find them. May I say it's a good thing to sweep the floor because that's when I found the 2 pieces.

And I thought we had a lot of snow in Utah this storm left about 12 inches

So when the Family came home before T's surgery they went out to clean the drive way. I think the kids just played while......

For F.H. E. we made Christmas trees. And may I just say that I am not the best picture taker most of the pictures I took were blurry OK worse that the one you'll see here. but you can see what we did.

One of the fun things I got to do while here was to do the girls hair in all these different ways. These next 3 pictures was the last Sunday morning I was there.

OH WHAT FUN

I took our camera to school yesterday trying to get something to blog about Well the first pictures I took were ALL blurry...(may I say that it isn't easy to do things one handed and it takes 3 times as long to do the things that you can do) any way these first picture were just cute pictures that I couldn't resist taking. and the last 3 kind of speak for themselves. :)

After going in the back room to get some pictures, this is what I saw as I came through the door. Zanna was cleaning the chalk board. And it was so sweet I couldn't resist taking a picture. She is just tooooo cute. this picture is a little blurry but they were on the move and I had to be quick. As you should know these 2 cute little boys are big rivals and to have them holding hands and walking together is a miracle. I had to get this picture.

this is the grand kids favorite place to play...Why?.... they get to play with toys that the rest of the school kids don't get to play with yet. Zanna and Grady playing...usually there are more toys there so it's hard to get out the door. They aren't as messy as the bigger kids.

This is our new toy for this year and the kids love it. I loved this picture because it was all grand kids on it.

If you have read Liseanne's blog you read about us going to the show at 12:20 in the morning and all the embroidery she did the next day.......well this is what we saw :)

OH wait! She's not really awake. Her BIG drink didn't even help. OH! I know just how she feels.

Pumpkin Walk

This is a yearly event and we work very hard for 2 weeks before the Pumpkin Walk. This year was no different. There were a lot of really outstanding pumpkins carved this year. I won't put then all on my blog because I'll let the others have a chance. the grand finale in this picture you can't see them very clearly but you can see how they were set out. It was a LONG day Thursday I was down to the K.K. at 8:30 to set every thing out and get the school started. then to the park at about 9:30am setting the pumpkins out and doing all the little things that need to be done. Home long enough to get warm clothes on then back to Syr. for the actual Pumpkin Walk.

We don't even have all the scary ones together as you can see with these two pumpkins.

All you "Edward" fans will recognise this pumpkin.

If you can't tell this is my mom and dad when they were younger.

But the pumpkins to see this year were "Grandma Beverly and Grandpa Chester" There were sooooo many comments on these pumpkins, It was extra fun to sit next to them and hear what everyone had to say. Thanks Sheldon for doing this. It meant a lot to me

Brian didn't think he would be able to come so we were glad when he came to help.

Just a couple ones that I carved.

Liseanne and I carved all the months of the year and they turned out really good, but 3 days under the hot lights they were pretty sad looking by the end of the 3rd day. So I didn't take a picture of them.

The Biggest surprise was that dad came over to walk through with me which he always does. But he STAYED. and STAYED, and STAYED. WOW! for most of the evening, it was nice to have him there. Thanks Galen, we'll look forward to having you there next year too.

Fall is here!

The other day I was lamenting to Melinda that I felt sad that it's fall because now my house will look sad...all my flowers will be gone. So on Saturday she came over and pulled all the dead flowers and put up the corn stalks.

I really like the new look of the front of the house.

Our October Fest

Well it must be October........ last Saturday we had our Pumpkin Walk meeting and after, it was suggested that next Saturday every one meet at the K.K. and carve pumpkins. Half the fun is just talking with everyone and catching up on each others lives. Oh by the way this party went from 9 in the morning until 9 at night. I went down at 9:30pm to check things out and it was all clean and put ready for Monday, I just had to turn down the heat. Pumpkins.....Pumpkins every where!!!!!

This was the scene when I walked into the school.....( I have the pictures back wards but Oh well.)

It had been raining and the pumpkins were wet so they were using a hair dryer to dry them before carving.

there were pumpkins every where.....Look out the window behind Mike. A little rain but every thing is nice and green now everything is covered with snow. You can also see all the pumpkins all over the lawn.

Everyone got into the act even the older kids were carving.....while the younger kids played with the toys in the other room. What an ideal place to carve pumpkins.

Even though there is talking, joking, and laughing to these carvers..... this is VERY serious business. All the "Jack-o-lanterns" are stored in the sheds which makes it interesting trying to get to things you need in there. But WE all love it.....well most of us love it. :)

Wow, I've never posted 3 posts on one week before. This one will be short, I just though it was such a cute picture that I had to share. Melinda ,Liseanne, and I were in the house canning and looked out the door to check on the kids and this is what we saw. Only none of us had a camera so I jumped on Parker's bike and hurried and got my camera. Thanks Parker even though you didn't know I borrowed your bike. cheap entertainment ....... but it kept them busy for a few minutes any way.
