Front Runner

Yesterday we had an appointment in Ogden so when that was done we decided that we would ride the Front Runner When we went to park it was a joke there wasn't a place to park anywhere so we went over to the train museum and parked there, and walked back. Galen thought I was crazy to take a picture of the parking lot. but I wanted to show just how many people were riding the train ... of course it was FREE
When we got on board I went right up to the top floor and luckily found 2 seats and hurried and sat down and they were the last seats up top as you can see there was standing room only. We were sitting back wards and that was almost more than I could take. with everything flying past backwards it made me really sick to my stomach. So Galen did change seats with me and if I didn't look out the window I was OK but it was weird I've never had that happen before.

This is the train just after we got off in S.L.C. we headed over to the trax train and took it to the Gateway mall where we just hung out for a while. It was free ice cream day at Ben and Gerry's so we got some Ice cream got a a Subway sandwich.

We then got back on the Front Runner and came home just in time to go to Melinda's for dinner. It was a fun day. While Galen was teaching every where we would go we would run into his students...well today we ran into students from K.K. :) nice change now I understand how he felt to have his students recognize him.

IS IT SAFE YET????

Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures but they are all taken through the window or the screens out our front room window. I didn't dare open the window because that would have made too much noise.

To day as we were coming home down 550 N. there were several police cars heading what looked like our street and when we turned on our street sure enough there were 2 police cars blocking on of the side street by Brimhall's. We hadn't been home 2 min. when 2 pulled in front of our house. followed by 2 more seconds later. Then 2 policemen came from behind Pesnell's with their dog. and headed up the street. then another car stopped on 300 N. shortly after that there came 3 policemen and they had 3 teens in hand cuffs and put them in the cars.
I called our friend up the road to see if they knew what was going on and she said that she thinks there was a fight at the park. (the one behind K.K.) She said that she has never seen so many policemen or police cars all in one place in her life. She also said that the police had guns pulled and they seem to be looking for more teens. but with the 3 down our way there must have been about 8 teens which all ended up in cuffs.

After they had all the teens they took them down to the Park (?) and had them in the big Bowery About that time we decided that we needed to check the school and see if it was OK and while we were there we had to look out the windows to see if we could see anything. but they were to far away. but we checked all the doors and windows to make sure that every thing was still locked up tight . Our poor little street has never seen so much "action".

In chasing the teens they mush have got hurt because after the teens were locked up in the police cars one of the officers got out the first aid kits from one of the cars and were cleaning their hands and also applying bandages.

Spring?

Just a fast post to let you all know that as I'm looking out my window it is SNOWING :( Will spring ever come? It makes me cold just looking at it and I'm still in my warm house. This should be a fun day at K.K. it's test day for the kids and teachers so while the teacher is testing the children individually the other kids are just playing, which up until now has been OK because they could go out side but not today YUCK I want to stay home!!!!!!!

I was going to wait to post the bedroom make over when it was done but I decided that it might take me a long time before I get it done so I am sending pictures now and will send the results later. Dad painted the undercoat before removing the carpet. Poor room really looks bear with no furniture or any thing in the closet

OK the walls are painted and the carpet has been removed, but the pad under the carpet was used as a drop cloth.

this is where we slept for 2-3 days not bad....but we did have our NEW home teacher come by and so he had to sit in out front room/bedroom to give us our lesson. Oh by the way he lives in a VERY NICE home oh well that's the way life is

Well you can see the nice hard wood floors and the bed room partly put back We just need to get a comforter for our bed. Melinda said the our room looks just like it did in Buffalo. And she's right. I didn't even realize it until she said something. We now have a carpet but I haven't taken a picture yet so that will be coming soon.

same day after day

It's so sad when your life is the same day after day. I guess I'll have to take my camera to Kiddie Kollege and take pictures there...:( Oh I did have a fun day Saturday with Melinda and Liseanne at the craft show. there was a lot of cute stuff and it was fun just being together. Afterwards we went out to eat and that was really fun. Poor dad stayed home and worked all day. What a good dad he is. Sorry no Pic. but I'll get on the ball next time. love all of you.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Well this is way past due and I only have a few min. before I have to leave for work . but while our friend from Buffalo were here we took them to Antelope Island wondering if they would like it or not because there is not much out there but they loved it. After all was said and done they said that was their favorite part of their trip.

But as you can see it really was beautiful
You can't see very well in the next 2 pictures but the white "dot" is an antelope

and the brown "dot " is a coyote Don't they look great:)

But this was the best part as we came around a bend in the road here was a herd of Buffalo just waiting for us to take their picture the ladies were soooooo excited this was the first time they had seen a Buffalo up close and personal we spent an easy 15 min. here just taking pictures

But of all the Beauty there on the Island for me this was my favorite that is looking back toward home and the scene was breath taking. As these ladies would see something and comment on it I saw with new eyes. So for me beauty is "In the Eye of the Beholder."

Preisthood meeting time

While all the men are a way the wives and children play..... "M" is choosing her favorite candle smell...Oh wait she can't make up her mind.
Two of our friends from Buffalo came to visit so I brought them along to play games and visit. This is Barb.

Dawn snatched up Little "G" and held him most of the evening she I think she is missing her own grandson.

Melinda and Liseanne are fixing goodies for all of us as I sit back and take pictures :) It was a fun evening we laughed a lot and had a good time. We missed you that couldn't be there. Maybe next time. Lets see we had 10 kids and 5 adults but the kids were great, they left us alone except when they wanted something to eat. Fun evening. Thanks Liseanne for providing the place to meet.
